About the Position

Great North Turnkey Build Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Housing Renovator to oversee and manage residential construction and renovation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating renovation activities while ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within established timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Management: Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the day-to-day activities of construction and renovation projects, overseeing all phases from initial site preparation through to final completion.

  • Bidding & Estimation: Evaluate new projects and prepare bids and tenders, accurately calculating required materials and labour hours to ensure projects remain within established budgets.

  • Team Coordination: Manage, supervise, and coordinate teams of construction professionals and tradespeople, including masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and welding teams, to ensure smooth on-site operations.

  • Scheduling & Time Management: Manage project schedules and implement effective time-management strategies to ensure construction and renovation work is completed within established deadlines.

  • On-site Inspection: Visit construction sites to inspect ongoing operations, monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and prepare administrative site reports.

  • Resource Control: Monitor the daily use of construction materials, equipment, physical resources, and labour hours to maximize project efficiency.

  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support in specialized areas, including welding and fabrication of special parts, plumbing, masonry, and other construction activities when required to resolve on-site challenges.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience in residential construction, renovation, or construction project supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and renovation processes.

  • Experience coordinating and supervising multiple construction trades and teams.

  • Ability to prepare estimates, manage project budgets, and monitor labour and material costs.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project responsibilities.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive wage of $28.00 per hour.

  • Minimum 30 hours per week, with additional hours based on operational and project requirements.

  • Vacation pay of 4% of gross earnings.
